Chile to approve animal feed plants in Argentina

Buenos Aires, October 16th. New exports will add potential growth in the Argentine economy. The animal feed could be exported soon to Chile, the sanitary authority of this country has come to Argentina to check the qualifications. The factories audited which are producing for feed local demand but now are gaining the qualification of the Chilean authorities. Seventeen factories have added this new market and five of them are gaining this qualification for the first time.

The control made by the inspectors of Chile has highlighted the fact that SENASA (National Sanitary and Animal Health Service) is working with an informatics system that allows a accurate control of the product. This will add confidence to products made in Argentina. The results of this audit and advises related to correct any difficulties will be available in thirty labor days.

Argentina is also adding new markets in cow and sheep genetics breeding. This happens in a meeting in Rio Negro Province, on 12th of October in which the Secretary of Agriculture, animal breeding, and fishery, Guillermo Beraudo has participated. The secretary attended to “ 41° Exposición Bovina, 6° Exposición Nacional Hereford y 3° Encuentro de Caballos”, a Spanish name for the 41st Cow Exhibit, 6th National Hereford Exhibit and 3rd meeting of Horses. This was organized by the “Sociedad Rural de Esquel”, a Spanish name for “Rural Society of Esquel”, the farmers union of this city in Rio Negro. The meeting has the Chilean and Argentine businessman who discuss the possibilities to export Hereford genetics cows to Coyhaique and Punta Arenas, part of the Aysén and Magallanes Regions in Chile.

Another new exports products are margarine, breaded chicken and bovine fat and could be exported soon to Uruguay. Víctor Larregui, the Uruguayan Authority of  Industrial Plants of Sanitary Service came to the country to make an audit too. This official has met with SENASA official who is Maria Luis Bonhomme. The results of this exam will be available in the next thirty days.

Uruguay is also importing meat, the country has imported 1300 tonnes from Brazil, 200 tonnes in Paraguay, and 43 tonnes from Argentina. The imports have 12.000 tonnes this year, measured in animals is about 65,000 heads of cattle. The price of the country meat is getting expensive compared by its neighbors.

The wine industry is also trying to gain markets from abroad. A new Business Meeting of Wine Industry has happened in Mendoza province, thirty-eight companies have participated and importers from Denmark,  Netherlands, Saint Lucia, Germany, Honduras, Ecuador, and Vietnam. It happened 279 meetings and 72 requests of prices for 110.000 dollars and sales of 150.000 dollars.

The local wine industry has exported 1.656.916 hectolitres of wine bottled, that represents 548.997 dollars. The main export province in Mendoza with 89,9% and follow San Juan 5,28% and La Rioja 2,35%, and Salta with only 1,84%. Our main exports markets until today are European Union, China, Canada, and Brazil.
