Prof. Mudi Sheves arrives in Argentina for BioArgentina conference

Buenos Aires, October 23rd. The scientist of the Weizmann Institute of Israel, Mordechai (Mudi) Sheves will participate next November 13th, in the BioArgentina conference, an initiative of the Biotechnology Argentine Chamber (CAB as its Spanish acronym) in Buenos Aires city.

Sheves is the vice president for Technology Transfer of the institute and will be the keynote speaker, early in the morning. After his presentation, it will be shown ten local biotechnology entrepreneurship with global impact, according to the BioArgentina press release. Those presentations will be moderated by Matias Peire, CEO and partner at Grid Exponential, a local company focused on developing science-based startup.

In the afternoon November 13th, entrepreneurs and researchers will expose its projects and start-ups to strategic potential partners. One of them is Beeflow, an entrepreneurship by Matias Viel and PhD’s Pedro Negri and Agustín Sáez, focused in the developing of more strong and “intelligent” bees that enhance the polination of the crops. Currently, Beeflow is providing services to kiwi, blueberries and almond farmers in Argentina. Also, they open the operation in the US, where is looking for a seed capital funding to expand its business.

BioArgentina conference is organized by the CAB, a chamber formed by 25 leading companies in Argentina and supported by the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation from Buenos Aires City Government.
